Background: Coming from China, the International basketball mecca, another tall big man. When asked if he can be as great as Yao Ming, or if he will be Wang ZhiZhi Sun Yue, his response was, “ I am not Yao. I am not anyone but me, and I plan on doing my best in the NBA.” With so much pressure on him, he has a calm tone, as he should. He has done great things in Shanghai Sharks, one of the biggest teams in all of China.

 

Scouting Report:

 

Athleticism: He is 6’11", and that is it. Very slow, not much leaping ability, but with an offensive game like his, who cares? I really wouldn’t look too much into his athleticism.

 

Offense: He has a great mid-range game with a good low block face up game. He's not a banger but he can get to the rim with his smooth playing. He is also a plus at the free throw line. He gets a lot of offense boards, he spaces the floor, and is a weapon from day 1!

 

Defense: I would say something good about this side of the ball, but I can’t. He has a lot of work to do to be able to compete with the best bigmen.

 

IT Factor: Maybe - he has the chance to grow into something bigger and better, and he could be the next great thing out of China.
